At the final Equestria L.A. back in November, a hundred lucky people got to spend two hours with the Fausticorn herself, Lauren Faust, and hear her talk about her life and work. She shared her thoughts and feelings in a wide ranging interview that covered everything from her early childhood and the loss of her father to her very latest work on DC Super Hero Girls.
Of course, there was lots of discussion of Friendship is Magic, including a frank discussion of why she left, as well as juicy tidbits like the original back story for Cadence. She also discussed other milestones in her career, such as Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, The Powerpuff Girls, and Wander Over Yonder.
Thankfully, now you can watch Lauren talk about her life for free, if you have Amazon Prime. Just click on the image above, or here to learn more about the creator of Friendship is Magic, and help support our animation scholarship at CalArts at the same time!
